Personal Injury, Insurance Disputes & Criminal Defence

Kris is a trial lawyer who wants to help people and their families. Kris has a particular interest in medical malpractice, car crash cases and long-term disability claims. Kris was born and raised in Trenton and has strong roots in the local community. Kris graduated from St. Paul's Secondary School in Trenton. He played for the Quinte Red Devils Triple AAA hockey teams and the Belleville Bulldog Rugby Club. After graduating from St. Paul's, he attended Queen's University in Kingston where he obtained an Honours Commerce degree. After graduating Queen's he felt the call to follow his father's footsteps and become a lawyer. Off he went to the big city to the University of Toronto for law school, graduating in 2000. Kris stayed in Toronto after graduation learning the ropes with the national law firm of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin (now simply called Faskens) before returning home.

Kris has successfully argued cases before juries, judges and the Court of Appeal in Toronto. He works with his clients to obtain the best possible results. For most cases that will mean resolving the cases before trial. However, he has the experience and know-how to take a case to trial if the that is what is necessary to help his clients.

“Knowing that I can help real people in our community when they are in need drives me every day to be better. I love knowing that as a trial lawyer I can help make a difference in someone's life.”

Kris is active in our local community. He regularly supports local charities and is the current President of our local Brain Injury Association Quinte District (BIAQD). Bonn Law supports the both the Belleville and Trenton Hospitals - he understand how important health care is to our community. Professionally he is a member of the Hastings County Law Association and a Director for the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.

Kris is also the lead contributor to the Bonn Law Blawg, which you can visit by clicking here.

Most importantly, Kris is a dad to two wonderful adopted children, Grace and Fraser and husband to his supportive and understanding wife Cassandra. Kris currently lives in Belleville and loves living in Quinte. Kris believes in helping support our local business and charitable organizations. Bonn Law is extremely proud to be part of the group of local legal professionals who are helping the Salvation Army provide a hot meal to those in need in our community, as well as participating in the Terry Fox Run, the Ken Sykes Run to support the Children's Aid Society and several other charitable events.
